The Facilities Systems Technician Lead supports the Facilities Systems Supervisor in providing direction and oversight of shift team members in their successful completion of daily tasks Intervenes, as necessary, in responding to customer concerns as they arise and Provides input to Facilities Systems Supervisor regarding staff performance and accountability. Operates equipment to receive, process, and disseminate incoming alarms and general information calls for the University of Kentucky – Lexington Campus, including UK HealthCare Receives and evaluates incoming requests for public safety assistance and routes requests and/or disseminates information to the appropriate field unit(s) as required Uses discretion in determining severity of situation and appropriate response Utilizes problem solving and troubleshooting skills resulting in effective resolution Reports all hazardous situations, accidents, incidents, and injuries immediately to leadership Effectively communicates with customers at all levels in a clear, concise, and professional manner Prepares and maintains daily activity and emergency event logs Adheres to and enforces all departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) Understands and complies with procedures pertaining to emergencies Works cooperatively with superiors and other employees Remains alert and maintains real time situational awareness Demonstrates professional integrity and accountability in all transactions Completes end of shift reports, prepares for, and communicates directly with incoming shift team members and Completes all required call center documentation in an accurate and timely manner. Reporting to the Facilities Systems Supervisor, this position is a critical member of a 24/7 Call Center Operation responsible for operating and monitoring building automation systems critical life safety and security systems, including fire exit door alarm systems, incoming fire alarms, elevator alarms multi-frequency two-way radio system and general telephone lines, etc.
